The Bay Area Chapter is one of several gay rodeo chapters in the state of California which are all organized under the Golden State Gay Rodeo Association (GSGRA). GSGRA is turn governed by the International Gay Rodeo Association (IGRA).

NGRA has produced twelve BigHorn Rodeos since 1996. Our rodeos include traditional events in rough stock (such as Bareback Bronc Riding and Bull Riding), speed, and roping categories, as well as camp (comical) events, entertainment, dancing, vendors, and other activities.

The New Mexico Gay Rodeo Association was established in 1984 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering the western lifestyle within the gay community. NMGRA also has a proud history of fundraising for charitable organizations within New Mexico. Each year, NMGRA produces the Zia Regional Rodeo, our premier fundraiser and the state's second largest LGBT event.
